Jerri DeVard, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, is responsible for all of Nokia's marketing, brand management, communications and selected industry collaboration activities. DeVard has extensive marketing experience with a wide range of leading consumer brands including Verizon, Citigroup, Revlon, Harrah's and Pillsbury. Her expertise encompasses brand management and multi-cultural marketing, with a strong foundation in direct marketing and e-commerce.
DeVard previously was principal of New York-based DeVard Marketing Group, where she counseled major consumer-product companies, including Microsoft and Allstate Insurance, on leveraging technology for effective marketing. She has experience in the telecommunications industry through her tenure at Verizon Communications Inc., where she served as senior vice president for marketing and brand management from 2003 to 2007. Before Verizon, she served as chief marketing officer for Citigroup's e-consumer business, and she held senior marketing positions at Revlon Inc., Harrah's Entertainment and the Pillsbury Co.
She also provided counsel and her experience in fundraising to President Barack Obama's election campaign.
DeVard has been recognized as one of Black Enterprise magazine's 75 Most Powerful African-Americans in Corporate America and was named among the Wall Street Journal's Women to Watch. DeVard is a member of the PepsiCo African-American Advisory Board. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of Belk, Inc.

I serve because of my love for Spelman College and the legacy of the school and its contribution.
