Terry Jones is Managing General Partner with Syncom Venture Management which currently manages two communications and media focused investment funds with aggregate capital of $410 million. Prior to joining Syncom, Jones lived and worked in Nairobi, Kenya where he was a Co-founder and Vice President of Kiambere Savings and Loan and a Lecturer at the University of Nairobi. He has also worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse Aerospace and Litton Industries.

Jones served on the Board of the Southern African Enterprise Development Fund, a presidential appointment. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of a number of Syncom portfolio companies including Radio One, Iridium Satellite, TV One and V-me TV.

Thoughts on why he chose to serve on the Spelman College Board of Trustees: Spelman plays a critical role in the present and future development of America. To be able to serve as a Board member, and to directly support the institution with my time, resources and relationships, is both a duty and a privilege. Spelman has educated and enriched all three of my daughters, and has empowered many of their friends and peers. Spelman's continued growth and outreach to positively effect America and the world is a historical imperative.
